Stages of Mitosis

Letter A shows Prophase.  Note the DNA strands showing themselves and combining.

Letter B shows late Prophase heading into Metaphase.  The Chromosomes are starting to organize themselves into a line along the center of the cell.

Letter C and D shows Metaphase and the beginning of Anaphase where the chromosomes are being split in two.

Letter E shows Anaphase where the chromosomes are retreating to the edges of the cell.

Letter F shows Telophase where the cell gets pinched in the middle and will eventually separate into two separate cells.
